Why LBO Ledger, and not the others

Most finance courses bundle everything into one expensive package and hours of recorded video you'll skip through anyway. This is narrower and cheaper on purpose: one skill per course, done properly, at a price that doesn't need a training budget to justify.

Common questions

How do I get into investment banking?
Build the technical foundation first — comps, M&A mechanics, and the deal process — then drill case studies and modeling tests under real time pressure until you can rebuild them cold. That's the exact structure of our Investment Banking course: real Excel models you build yourself, not slides you watch.
How do I break into finance with no experience?
Start with the toolkit every finance seat assumes you already have: valuation (DCF, comps, WACC) and basic modeling. Our Valuation course is the most common starting point for exactly this reason — it's the foundation every other finance career, from IB to PE to hedge funds, is built on.
What is LBO modeling?
An LBO (leveraged buyout) model values the returns a private equity firm earns from acquiring a company mostly with debt, then paying that debt down with the business's own cash flow before selling it years later. It's the single most common technical test in private equity interviews. Our Private Equity course builds a complete, working LBO model from a blank sheet — not a template with the formulas already filled in.
What are the exit opportunities after investment banking?
The most common path is private equity, followed by hedge funds, corporate development, or an operating role at a portfolio company. Each tests different technical skills: PE interviews lean heavily on LBO modeling, hedge funds test stock pitches and position sizing, and both assume the valuation fundamentals are already second nature. Our Private Equity and Hedge Fund courses are each built around exactly what their respective interviews actually test.
How long does it take to learn financial modeling?
With focused, hands-on practice — not passive video-watching — most people reach genuine competence in 4 to 8 weeks. That's why every course here is written and spreadsheet-first: rebuilding a real model yourself, repeatedly, is what actually builds the skill.
